Common Kingfisher by HammerPhotography Common Kingfisher by HammerPhotography
Finally, it took me two years since I last saw a common kingfisher but after waiting for about three hours monday three of them showed up. Their vibrant colours are really a sight to see.

This is probably the only bird that has a version in Europe that looks cooler than the North-American equivalent :p

Not that I don't like ours :>  Just not as colourful heh.  I'm amazed how many types of birds there are around my town since I started to photograph them heh.

Same thing here, I didn't even know there were so many kinds of different birds that visited my garden :p

And all kingfishers are just fun to look at, when they are trying to catch fish and stuff.

Yeah, heh I tried to catch mine in the act a few times :>  He was a bit too fast, and the one I might of had a chance :>  He did it behind a log so I could just sorta see him heh.  Got him in flight, but not the same.

just today caught a merlin falcon :>

Ah that's very cool, I know they are supposed to live in Holland as well, but I haven't seen one yet. And I don't see kingfishers very often, I have seen them three times now.
